Arsha at Bhavan’s Astra
On 23rd June, 2017, students of classes 9 to 12 participated in the cultural events of Astra organized by Bhavans Rajaji Vidyashram school at Kilpauk.
With great enthusiasm and joy the practice sessions and schedules were put up on the boards. All classes were filled with students and teachers trying to establish the perfect tune and style for the events signed up. About 31 students all together signed up for the Astra Culturals hosted by the Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram.
It was the first time for AVM students to take part in the cultural event held at Bhavans. The events were very different and interesting. We loved the way the invitation was presented to us. We took part in about 6 events such as, Step up, video making, futsal, banner making, cluedo and photography.
The experience we had was of great importance because all events were planned and hosted by the students of Bhavans. We saw great team work and enthusiasm among them. We weren’t disheartened that we couldn’t win a prize because this exposure has taught us a lot. It was a great experience. I felt that we could’ve done a better job if we took more time to practice. I was glad and proud, when our school dancers were given a special appreciation from the chief guests and the judge. I truly believe that we have great talent in our school and definitely thank the school management for giving us an opportunity to showcase them. I believe that we can definitely perform better if we have allotted hours for regular practice.
Being a part of the culturals committee we have been trying to establish this thought. We believe that even AVM students can start up with inter committee culturals and then take it forward. Astra taught us a lot; it was an experience that gave us a wide knowledge. I sincerely thank our school for supporting us and allowing us to be exposed to such events.
On the 23rd Mrs. Uma Ravishankar, Mr Rumesh and Mr. Abdul Rahman accompanied students and were on duty. On 24th Mrs. Uma Ravishankar accompanied the students and was on duty.
Students participated with full energy and it was a learning experience for them. They did their best.
