Exhibitions are more than just displays; they are a celebration of creativity, knowledge, and innovation. The Experiential Learning Exhibition at Arsha Vidya Mandir showcased the remarkable journey of students throughout the academic year, reflecting how hands-on learning experiences make a significant impact.
One of the most engaging segments of the exhibition was the debate, where students presented a compelling 3 versus 3 argument on the topic, ‘Should developing nations host international sporting events?’ Thought-provoking discussions and well-reasoned points brought out the depth of their understanding. The farm visit experience was beautifully encapsulated in a video, capturing moments of learning and bonding as students engaged in hands-on farming activities.
Music took center stage with a seamless blend of Hindustani and Western influences, as Raag Charukesi intertwined with Adele’s Skyfall and Rolling in the Deep, creating a mesmerizing fusion. The One Book All Read (OBAR) program, which encourages reading across different genres, was highlighted through an engaging panel discussion, AVM OBAR Talks, where students addressed key questions and reflections on the initiative.
A presentation on Garbology explored modern waste management and consumption patterns, emphasizing sustainability. High school students also presented on Environmental Management (EVM) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK), two subjects that encourage both environmental sensitivity and a deeper understanding of how we acquire knowledge. The storytelling segment showcased the school’s Etymology Programme, with an interactive treasure hunt that made language exploration an adventure.
The dance performances were a celebration of cultural diversity, moving from Indo-Western Freestyle Fusion to the rhythmic beats of Oriental Pop, the soulful strains of Bengal’s Iktara music, and the vibrant energy of Jamaican dance fused with hip-hop freestyle.
Beyond the stage, the exhibition had an array of creative and thought-provoking displays. The Upcycling initiative featured seven innovative projects, with the highlight being life-sized dolls made from papier-mâché. The Art exhibit was a breathtaking collection of student artwork, each piece carefully curated under a theme that stole the show. In the Chess section, visitors got the chance to take on students in various game challenges, including a one-minute blitz and even blindfolded matches. The Photography display offered a unique experience where nature and visuals were intertwined, enhanced by music that deepened the connection between the viewer and the captured moment.
The exhibition truly reflected the spirit of experiential learning, demonstrating how education extends beyond textbooks and classrooms. It was an inspiring showcase of talent, curiosity, and innovation, reinforcing the idea that learning is at its best when it is hands-on, immersive, and creative.
